There are 2 cities we suggest where you may stay for the excursions: Neustadt an der Weinstraße or Deidesheim.
With its 23.000 hectare Palatina is Germany's second biggest wine-growing area. With 1.800 sunshine hours per annum its possible to develop mediterranian feelings. 
You arrive individually in Neustadt or Deidesheim and stay in the Steigenberger Hotel in Deidesheim or at the Ramada Hotel in Neustadt an der Weinstraße.
Roam through the city of Deidesheim or Neustadt. Enjoy the fine palatinate cuisine and palatinate wines in one of the gourmet restaurants.
B&B at a hotel of your choise
Today you will see the northern road of wine. You will meet some young, innovative wine makers and some very famous wine makers.
You have you lunch in the world's biggest wine barrel. The barrel (1.700.00 litre) in Bad Dürkheim is a restaurant, there was never wine inside. In the afternoon there are more wine tastings.
In the evening you will enjoy a palatinate buffet with matching VDP wines.
B&B at a hotel of your choise
After breakfast you will visit the castle of Hambach. "Upwards patriots, to the castle, to the castle!" this call was followed by more than 30.000 people from all over Germany, France and Poland on May 27th, 1832.
They started at the marketplace in Neustadt and went up to the Castle of Hambach in order to demonstrate for their civil rights and the national unity of Germany, freedom of press and speech, equal rights for women and the abolition of customs and taxes within Germany.
That day the German flag (black-red-gold) was used for the first time!
You may then travel back or enjoy 1 or 2 more days in the area.
